what's up? With spring officially in swing, residents are invited to the rooftop garden to celebrate the opening of their communal garden plots for the season!

Willoughby Sprout, decked out in his best floral-knit cardigan and looking more at ease than anyone's seen him in weeks, breaks ceremonial ground by planting one of his tomato seedlings in his own little section.

The staff are also excited to announce Henhurst Hall's newest acquisition: flanked by a couple of wrought-iron benches (with the requisite egg motifs) in the centre of the roof is the building's very own Wishing Well! Related to the Fortunate Fountain, the Well's reputation is one of slightly less "charity" and a little more "tit for tat." It thinks coins are passé, and the relative value of what you dropped in is said to have a direct correlation to what you'll receive.

how this works! wishing well ⬥ What characters wish for and contribute to the Well will influence future events, both great and small.

⬥ Anybody can wish for anything at any time.

⬥ Give something, get something — the Well's only listening if you make a "donation." Tax receipts not currently available.

⬥ A word of caution: be careful when choosing your words.

⬥ Don't get greedy. While Fortunate Fountains are the altruistic stuff of fairy tales, Wishing Wells are created with a little more sass.

⬥ The Wishing Well does not appreciate being used as a rubbish bin.

⬥ To make a wish, fill out the form in the mods' dropbox. We'll reply letting you know what the result was, or to let you know to keep an eye on a forthcoming plot calendar.

how this works! community garden There's enough room for everyone. To keep it easy, we won't be keeping a list of people with garden plots. Feel free at any point to mention your character has one, whose it's beside, and what they're growing!

(this is really just an announcement in the guise of a lil ic/ooc.)

Butter fingers! Molly goes to scope out the wishing well and drops her entire Cornetto down it immediately. She stands nearby, pouting in the hopes that someone will notice and get her a new one, but never actually thinking to wish for one from the well, herself.

Corrie is impressed that they managed to get rid of all the sand! She nudges Rose and Sian to point it out.

She pretends to push someone in the well to get a wish off them.

I love this. I love all of this.

I need to figure out my wishes, because I'm definitely making some.

Hugo is going to grow mint, in the hopes that Henhurst Hall continues to produce cucumber-flavored water.

Okay, he's not checking out hotties. But he is hogging the telescope.

There's nothing preventing anyone from working in someone else's plot, right? Corrie wants to ask her brother for plants, and then make her brother come water (and etc) the plants.

"Where does this GO?" Rose asks loudly as she looks down the well, ever-perturbed by the non-Euclidean geometry of this building. It's not that she thinks it should be impossible, because she was raised on magic and nonsense at the Burrow. It's just kind of rude, in her opinion. Everything should stay in the normal three dimensions unless it has a good reason not to.
