MEAT CUTES SINGLES NIGHT
what's up? Love is (possibly) in the air at Meat Sweats: All You Can Meat Steakhouse (Good First Date Spot!), which is trying to live up to its name by cramming as many first dates into one night as it possibly can. Cocktails are arguably Valentine's Day themed, and someone went to the trouble of charming paper hearts into fluttering around like drunken butterflies.

The small dining room is packed, and the tables have been arranged so that there are plenty of spots where couples can sit across from one another. Over the speakers, an "oldies" playlist of early 2000s Muggle ?love songs? is on shuffle.

Participants who get Bingo get a special prize! Anyone who gets a blackout is a madman, but there's something special in it for you if you do. And of course, signing the attendance sheet gets you half-off on rent at Henhurst Hall.

Tonight's menu is:
  • A pink sweetheart cocktail that tastes a little bit too much like pepto bismol, garnished with a strawberry and twisty straw.
  • Tater tots shaped like hearts.
  • Your choice of pizza (pepperoni shaped like hearts), salmon (it's pink!) or curried cauliflower with red food colouring (the veggie option).
  • Chocolate cake dessert.
The dinner begins at 7:00 PM and Olive kicks everyone out at 12:00 AM, but like, who wants to stay at Meat Sweats for five hours?

volunteer slots! Hugo Weasley ends up stuck talking to an older wizard who is clearly very drunk and keeps asking extremely strange questions. On the bright side, they do manage to fill out one elusive spot on their bingo card! (By taking this spot, you can mark any one of your bingo spots as filled for free!)

Grizzy barrels into [CHARACTER C] while they're both dashing to get to the next table, and they go tumbling to the ground. Now that's a Meet Cute!

[CHARACTER D] feels like they've been plunged into ice water when Morty passes through them on his way to another table. The sensation is brief, but then they feel something cold and wet stuck to their back. It's partially digested pizza encased in ectoplasm.

how bingo works!
🍗 Remember, this IC/OOC is forward-dated meaning that it takes place on Sunday, February 14th. Please wait until Sunday to make journal posts that take place during the event.

🍗 Speed dating rounds last anywhere from thirty seconds to five minutes before Bud blows his whistle and participants are expected to get up and run to a different table, musical chairs style. There's not much organization to this event and there's nothing stopping residents from cheesing the game by running to people they already know.

🍗 Organizers insist that the seating arrangements were randomized, which is why sometimes participants are seated across from a relative or otherwise-inappropriate potential mate. They insist that, legally-speaking, this is a networking event — so don't worry, mark off those cards, and keep going!

🍗 Click here for the Bingo Card template.
On desktop: click File > Make a Copy.
On mobile: press "..." > Share & export > Make a copy.

Follow the directions in the spreadsheet to learn how to set up your card!

🍗When you're all set up, you can either paste the code in its own entry on your journal (fancy!) or grab a sharable link to your spreadsheet (convenient!). Either way, come on down to SPEED DATING BINGO and make a new comment with your character's name in the subject and your link in the body.

🍗 Reply to others and fill your card! Have fun!

🍗 The cutoff for submitting completed Bingo Cards for prizes is February 15, 12:00PM EST. You can keep playing in your threads for as long as you want, but you just won't get the Mystery Prize if you haven't submitted by the cutoff.
locations! 💘 BEFORE THE MEAT CUTE: Are you ready to find love and avoid gastrointestinal issues?

💘 SPEED DATING BINGO: Date! Meet! Win! Post your cards here with your character's name in the subject. Others can reply to your thread to start quick scenes as they fill out their cards in search of a BINGO — and maybe... true love?

💘 AROUND MEAT SWEATS: Same time, same place as Speed Dating Bingo but this section is for those MEATier scenes. (Any non-speed-dating scene)!

💘 AFTER PARTY: After you've either won or given up on Bingo, there's a plan to meet up at Poor Lenore's for drinks. A local band is playing tonight, and it's a more pleasant setup for dancing and flirting if that's your jam. You might miss the subtle aroma of a New York striploin, though.

🥩 OOC – QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, CONCERNS! Don't forget to submit your card under the subheader when you're got a bingo and/or blackout!

SPEED DATING BINGO: Chase & Hugo

Hugo rubs his forehead and gives their question the real thought it deserves. "Could you... erase it? Or, paint over it somehow?"

"Oh, man, but what if someone went all Spanish Jesus on the dick?" Chase shakes their head. Horrifying. "What if we're all portraits and someone ends up going Spanish Jesus on all our dicks?"

SPEED DATING BINGO: Chase & Hugo

Hugo blinks once, then many more times a moment later. "We can't think about that," he turns back to Chase. "We can live our whole lives in fear."

Chase places one hand on either of Hugo's shoulders. "If we're becoming self-aware, we can't just turn away from our duties."

"Chase..." Hugo half-manages to suppress a laugh, then gravely puts his hands on their shoulders. "How do we know it's not already too late? Huh? How do we know if we're not already in the after-Spanish Jesus times?"
