Corrie went out with some Quidditch mates last night and fell asleep on a teammate's sofa. She wakes at fiveish, as she's cursed to, barely sensible enough to apparate back to the building. As she's going up the stairs (she hasn't trained enough for emergencies to take the lift), something catches her eye on the first floor. The what. Her poster. And it's definitely the one from her flat too, as she'd signed it. She glares in deepest offense for a minute, notes the location of the room, and continues on up to her own, wanting a bit more sleep before she tackles this nonsense.
Only her key's malfunctioning or something because she can't get in her denuded door. Throwing up her hands, she grumbles all the way up to the next floor and crashes on one of the sofas in Grandma's Place.

6:00 AM, a scant ninety minutes after nodding off, Freddie stumbles out of his room in search of his sister. It's their dad's birthday, and Freddie needs to get to the shop and do... something.
He's not quite sure what yet. He kind of forgot to plan it out this year. But he'll figure it out when he gets there.
As soon as he gets to his sister.
Freddie cuts across the hall toward his sister's door and... wait.
Hang on.
Wait.
Hold on. He's gonna figure this out. He's gonna—he's gonna go back to sleep.
Freddie turns back toward his door, but... which one did he come from again?
Well, standing here ain't gonna do a thing. Politeness be damned, Freddie starts pounding on a door.
Beautiful. So like, if you were out all night and came back, you might not be able to get into your room? If they have locks that is, and if people aren't just apparating home. (Can they apparate at home here btw? Always wondered.)
yeah! or, at least, the spot where their room used to be now has a different room number on the door, if they'd notice that.
doors have locks and residents have their own keys to their own rooms. for security reasons, there's an anti-apparition charm around the building. people can't apparate inside of henhurst or into the rooms but they can apparate to just outside the entrance of the building.
there's no anti-disapparition jinx preventing people from leaving, so they can pop out whenever they want (as long as it doesn't coincide with apparating into a place with an anti-apparition charm) if that makes sense??
Totally makes sense and clarified some things I'd wondered about. Didn't realize there were numbers on the doors either (well, on most doors... Corrie put her carnival poster up on the outside of her door) so that's super helpful!
we def overlooked these details tbh so i'm glad you asked.
corrie's beautiful carnival poster traveled safe and sound to where her door/room is currently located (floor 1, room 3) but if she goes to where her room used to be (floor 3, room 2) she'll notice that it's MISSING!!!! or perhaps... STOLEN???
(since it's on the first floor, she could potentially spot the poster when she enters the building. very BOLD of a THIEF to display their stolen goods like that!!!)
