what's up? By bus, by floo or by foot, the residents of Henhurst Hall begin arriving in Diagon Alley. The streets are bustling with normal foot traffic as well as the buzz of rubberneckers and reporters. Some cameras flash as a journalist calls out for a comment from Sir Forsythe (who happily gives an interview on his exciting new project) or one of the Potter-Weasleys.

People trickle in throughout the day, walking into the grand lobby of Henhurst Hall. A young man in his early 30s introduces himself as Willoughby Sprout, the building manager, and will help new residents find their rooms. He seems a bit stressed, though. Probably because there was a tiny mishap with the luggage. The Brownies are, uh, definitely going to sort it out any moment now! They're just having a row with Morty again.

Upon entering their rooms, the new occupants find out exactly what the mishap is: that's not their luggage.

volunteer slots! Coronation Street Pye gets mistaken for James Potter by a reporter with very thick glasses. Would they like to give an interview? What are their opinions on the meteoric rise of the Shirking Shrew Movement?? What's it like being related to someone so famous?!?

[Volunteer B] is the only person that manages to get a moment of Sir Forsythe's time. He's affable and excited, but seems distracted and busy. Maybe you can ask him a question or two before he flits off.

Already off to a bad start with the Brownies, Rose Weasley accidentally nudges one with their foot while the little guys were skittering between their ankles. The Brownies cower in a corner chittering and gasping at Rose Weasley like they just committed a murder before their very eyes. (The Brownie in question is fine.)

Shortly before the orientation, [Volunteer D] turns a corner to find Willoughby Sprout politely chasing [Volunteer D]'s own familiar and asking it to please return his files. The (non-human) rascal seems to have a sheaf of papers in its mouth.

Oh no, the Brownies and Morty must have been fighting again, because everyone's luggage was delivered incorrectly. Each character's boxes, suitcases or bags were sent to a completely different room, and you received someone else's stuff instead. It's going to take some effort to track down your missing belongings. Kind of odd that they're all perfect swaps and not just delivered randomly, but who knows how the fae think.

Speaking of fae, the Brownies are on strike until Morty apologizes to them. Looks like you're on your own.

Tycho Davies can't seem to find his luggage anywhere, though. At least not until he checks the roof. All of his belongings have been scattered haphazardly throughout the garden.

how this works! ⬥ Welcome to Henhurst's first IC/OOC! Please don't take more than one volunteer spot, and enjoy playing in our little sandbox.

⬥ Characters can arrive any time after 8:00 AM. They've all already been given a key to open the building as well as their room. Not much has been shared with them about the nature of individual floors, but they do know it's a building made out of many other buildings across time and space.

⬥ The arrival of famous children has attracted some reporters and paparazzi who are trying to get a choice photo or quote. It's not out of control, but it's a bit annoying.

⬥ There's an orientation video playing on loop in the common area on the first floor. It's the only way to learn the wifi password, which is shown briefly on a card at the end of the video before it starts all over again. (The password is g411usg411us, and the first time you log in it directs you to PoultryHub. Thank Merlin it isn't the other Hub.)

⬥ The free popcorn machine is running! I'm sure it'll always stay this way and never be neglected in the future!

"That better be the right password because I am not watching that again," Rose says, fully not having realized she'd missed the wifi password. She tries it on her phone and lets out an immediate groan. "THIS DOESN'T WORK," she says in an accusatory fashion, in Scorpius's general direction.

"There were a bunch more letters and numbers after 'us'..." Albus looks back over his shoulder at the chicken video, which appears to have started over again. "It's fine, no one needs to yell," he says in the tone he uses for calming wild animals and for whenever Rose and Scorpius argue. "We just have to watch again to the end and we can get access to the wifi. Which, to answer your question, is full of educational resources."

"I'm not yelling," Rose says, like she always does when Albus asks her to stop yelling. "And whoever made that video is insane if they think a wild chicken is more beautiful than that one with the long tail."

"Some people like a simple, naturalistic aesthetic. A realistic take over one that's highly manicured and manipulated by humans," Scorpius explains, clearly dipping into artíste mode as he adopts an (if possible) even more posh tone.

"I like the ones that have really bright colours. They kept saying the number one chicken was green, and I did not see the green." Albus taps his chin, half of his attention still on the chicken video in the background. "Do you think this means I need glasses?"
