"This question sounds like a trap," Ebenezer says without even looking up. He's been staring at that same box on his card all night, wondering who the hell it was even for. "You think there's some secret Prince Charles loyalist club run out of the basement?"
Finally, he glances up at the other person at this table. "You think I could get in?"
Re: SPEED DATING BINGO: Ebenezer Smith and Corrie Pye
Well that wasn't a no. "You'd probably have to show some proof of loyalty," Corrie said. "Get filmed punching an MP or something. Donate to the cause. That sort of thing. They can't afford to let just anyone in."
"I could punch an MP," Ebenezer muses, as if there isn't a big fat [FOOTAGE NOT FOUND] when trying to find proof of his physical fighting prowess. Whatever!! The point is he could if he wanted to!! "If I just need to punch an MP, they should let me in. Tell them they can let me in." He gestures vaguely toward her card, like she has the power to convey all that by just ticking a box.
"And if you've ever lost your wand or," he glances at his card and wrinkles his nose, "wear your shoes indoors, I won't even hold that against you right now."
Re: SPEED DATING BINGO: Ebenezer Smith and Corrie Pye
This sounds more like him wanting to be in a secret club than anything else, but Corrie isn't going to look a gift douche in the lie. She marks that square and claims another bingo with a muttered sure thing, mate.
"Put me down for both," she says. She's feeling generous, but also bratty in the face of judgement. "You grow up running in and out all day, you don't worry about that shit. And we left it behind when we moved once." Shrug. These things happen.
